Ernie Chambers, the Nebraska State Senator, astounded individuals after he filed suit against God on September 17, 2007. Chambers argues that the court should stop God and his followers from making terrorist threats.
The lawsuit was filed at a district court in Nebraska, where Chambers challenged God and his followers of continuous terrorist threats of great harm to an immense number of people.
The allegation placed on the “Almighty and his followers” consist of: devastating floods, earthquake, hurricanes, tornadoes, plagues, famines, drought, genocidal wars, and birth defect. As well of being held responsible for striking fear, dread, anxiety and terror in the hearts of many to the point of unflinching submission. Also Chambers want the court to prohibit God from “issuing plagues, and terrorist threats.”
Chambers even goes as far to explain that God does not need to be in a court room because he is everywhere. Because God is everywhere he can be easily connected to Nebraska’s court jurisdiction. Since God is all knowing, the court system does not need to serve him with a notice of the lawsuit. “The lawsuit indicates that Chambers attempted to make God appear in order to serve him by saying ‘Come out, come out, wherever you are,’ but the Almighty declined…” (Singel). The reasoning behind this was to prove that the state constitution permits lawsuit to be filed regardless of the reason.
Externally this article has nothing to do with our class, but if you look internally it does. This can easily show that certain rules and regulation should be brought to the peoples attention has well as display copyright needs to be re-evaluated because it is just like this article silly. If I buy a CD, I should do what I please with it. And I thought it was funny.

This is a weird story.
I'm trying to figure out if Ernie Chambers is a lunatic or a satirical humorist. Looking at the original article, there appears to be reason to classify Senator Chamber as the former:
"The lawsuit indicates that Chambers attempted to make God appear in order to serve him by saying 'Come out, come out, wherever you are.' "
This guy's a nut.
Perhaps he was just making a joke? I hope this is the case because if Chambers is seriously trying to urge the courts to prosecute the Almighty, Nebraskans ought to be more careful who they elect to the Senate.

Ernie has made many points, some good, some bad. While I agree with the fact that people should have the right to sue, I think we should have loser pay courts. Meaning if you win, you get money - sued or sueing. This will reduce the BS lawsuits and free up the courts for real issues. Ernie, thinks we should waste time and money on these suits. He is wrong.
I'm pretty sure Chambers completely contradicted whatever point he was trying to make. By saying that God is "everywhere" and "all-knowing," he's saying that he is superior to human beings. By filing the suit in the first place however, he's treating him like an ordinary person.
In a perfect system I would agree with Ronald's suggestion of a winner-takes-all setup, but ours is far from it. Forcing the losers to pay and rewarding the winners in cases of unjust rulings would only make the outcome more unfair, and it might intimidate people from filing legitimate complaints. I agree that this suit is a waste of time and money though, so I do think there should be some sort of penalty for frivolous lawsuits. Those resources could be used to face real threats, like the injustices of copyright law.
This is a pretty funny article, and i really like how you tied it into our class, with the outdated laws. It shows how ridiculous some things are in this country.
